St. Louis De Montfort Reviews

I have been nothing but satisfied with this school. We are a new family and have found the teachers and staff to be helpful and friendly. It is truly about the children here and principal gross and her staff do what is necessary for the children that is what counts!

St. Louis is a great school. The teachers are wonderful. Ms. Foote is dedicated, Mrs. Malloy is a wonder and really helps out. The music and gym teachers are excellent too. The principal does a good job. The pastor is a nice fellow, a little distant, but it works.

There are serious problems at this school so with heavy hearts we have left. Please be aware that many complaints from teachers, students and parents have been lodged, against the principals behavior, with the Archdiocese. The Archdiocese has done nothing to correct the situation so parents and teachers have been left with no choice but to leave. If you are thinking of enrolling your children you may want to ask around the neighborhood about what is going on at this school.

This is a wonderful school. The administration, faculty, and staff are all very caring and supportive. Overall there is a sense of warmth and family. There are many extracirricular activities. The administration provides many wonderful programs for our children. There is no doubt that the children are safe and happy. Thanks to the administration for providing our children with a great school!

We transfered our daughter here when our previous school closed, it has been quite an adjustment, but the principal did work with me to make sure she was happy. The prinicpal always answered my calls and arranged meetings with teachers when necessary. We feel this school does give you a family feeling and the priests are always around to say hello and get to know the kids. our family is happy with St. Louis Demontfort school.

We once thought this was a fantastic school. The teacher turnover is very disturbing. I wonder who wrote the excellent remarks? One has to only open their eyes and ears to see what this school is truly like. We will be transferring this summer to a different school - one that has a warm feeling, competent administration, a carried-out discipline program, and accurate communication. We pray for the remaining families.

I have one child that graduated from St. Louis and one that will not. My second child wanted to transfer to another school because most my childs friends and teachers had left or quit for no other reason than the principal. What was once a welcoming Catholic learning environment that prided having top caliber teachers had become unrecognizable.

St. Louis is an excellent school with great communication, good parent teacher interaction and a wonderful Catholic program. The enrollment is climbing, test scores are excellent and the new summer camp program is heaven sent for those parents who need a fun place to put their kids in the summer! Three cheers for St. Louis!

At one time St. Louis did deserve to be listed on great schools. However, in the last four years the current administration has changed that. Parent/administration communication is just about non-existent. There always seems to be a new controversy. This parish does not have the 'Catholic community' feel many of us seek. With so many neighboring schools we have many choices for educating our children - go elsewhere

This is an excellant school. The leadership, staff and faculty are very well qualified and caring individuals. Our children are happy and safe. Thank you Miss Gross for providing a wonderful staff and an excellant cirricilum for our children!

St.Louis is a great place to be. The Music program offered at this school is unbelievable. No other school in OakLawn could compare! The music teacher is a professional. Above that the education is wonderful. No matter what it is about the children and the teachers and staff put the children first. The school is expanding every year. Thank You to the principal Miss Holly Gross for all her time and effort.

I choose St Louis De Montfort school for my child who attended public school before this, his class has the max of 30 kids, his grades are up, his teacher is very good at keeping the parents informed. Overall I can not say one bad thing about the school. It was the best thing I have ever done for my child.

I do not at all recommend this school. I have seen the decline of this school. This is no longer a neighborhood school.

The enrollment figures listed are misleading as they are from 2004-05. St. Louis has dropped to under 140 for the 2006-07 school year. I would also like to point out that the Archdiocese does not allow test scores to be made public therefore how does one 'research'? I will say that my children had very high test scores while attending this school due to their teachers diligence and professionalism. Guess what? These talented teachers all left within the last year and so did we as we found their replacements to be woefully inadequate.

The only clear reason someone would keep their child at this school is if they are completely in denial. There are barely enough children to fill a classroom. If you care about your child having a good education, think twice before coming to this school.

St. Louis De Montfort lacks in leadership, academics and the extracurricular activities are basically nonexisitant. We had to change schools so my children would atleast be supplied with a basic education. The school will give the students a passing grade in a class that the child hasn't attended For that Quarter. This happened more than once. Please be careful

I am very satisfied with this school. If you make the proper research and comparison this school academically is very advanced, the test scores prove it.

The only positive I can endorse is St. Louis de Montfort used to be a wonderful school. I had to take my child out last year as there was no consistency in academics or staff from week to week. If your are looking for a Christian atmosphere where your child's education and well-being come first, I would suggest you keep looking.
